Oh Christmas Tree

I am busy trying to get ready for my craft fair next week I made a couple of these tree cards to sell. They are pretty easy to make all you need is the Martha Stewart Branch Punch and some patience :) It took me a while to sort all the branches. I glued a section on the card then attached some branches then did it again until  the whole thing was done. I then trimmed around the branches to give it a clean tree shape. I am not sure how many branches I used but it was close to a whole sheet of 12 x 12 card stock :)

The Greatest Gift

When I first saw this stamp on the Unity website I just had to have it. This is such a lovely Christmas stamp and it is unlike anything else I have seen before. I love Unity for that that they have really great unique stamps. We often get lost in hustle and bustle this time of year but this is a such a great reminder of what Christmas is really is all about.

This is a really easy card to make the hard part was choosing the colours :)  I stamped the sentiment and image on the same piece of card then coloured it. I mounted it on to some coordinating card and adhered it to the card base.

Bear in a Bauble

I stopped into to Michaels Craft store after work today and got some good Black Friday deals :) I picked up this plastic bauble for 50c as I wanted to try making a Christmas tree decoration with it using my stamps.  It comes in 2 halves so all you need to do is insert you image and close it over and add some ribbon super easy :)

It just so happened this little bear fit perfect into the ornament you can find here at Unity. I had already coloured lots of them earlier this week. So all did was draw around the bauble to get the size and cut it out a just a wee bit smaller so it would fit inside. It turned out better than I thought it would. So I am going to make a bunch more and personalize them with names of the people who will be receiving them for Christmas.

How cute does he look I am sure he will look great hanging from the Christmas Tree :)

Here is another one I made using the A friend loveth Stamp set from Unity. I stamped 2 large butterflies I covered them in purple glitter embossing powder  and heat set them. Then  I cut them out and glued them back to back in between filament wire to make it float in the bauble  :)

Little Bear

I have been working on lots of cards for my upcoming craft fair. I love this little bear I made him into a Birthday bear as well as the Christmas one that he came as :)  Why just have him around for Christmas when you can have him out all year long right?  You can find him here over at Unity Stamp Company.  The Birthday sentiment is also a unity stamp you can find that here. I used Darice embossing folders to create the backgrounds and the coloured card is from Bazzill.

Santa Paws

Happy Monday everyone :) I have been busy trying to clean out my crafting area and found a few of these mini Santa hats laying around. I was not sure what to do with them so I came up with this cute idea of a dog wearing a Santa hat :) The dog stamp is from one of my Unity stamps sets and it fit perfectly. I love all of the stamps from the Phyllis Harris collection at Unity if you don't own any you must get some they are amazing :)  The background was made from themed papers. I stamped and colored the dog using alcohol markers I fussy cut him out and adhered to the background. I glued the hat on and added some ribbon to make a collar. I stamped the sentiment in a deep red ink and placed it at the top to finish it off.

It's the most wonderful time of the year

I have been playing around with my stamps tonight making some Christmas cards I wanted to share this one with you. I really like this stamp I love the sentiment as it is one of my favourite Christmas songs :) I paper pieced the sleigh with green glitter card and coloured the rest with spectrum noir alcohol markers. I used some red glitter card to create a border and mounted it onto a card base. I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and added some small red glitter hearts that I punched from my heart punch.

The Christmas Door

My new Unity stamps arrived yesterday woo hoo :) I was actually waiting on my angel Arianna Girl stamp but she has not yet appeared. So I decided to make something with the other stamps that came. I started off with the The Most Wonderful Time of the Year stamp set that includes a sleigh I love sleighs :) But I could not get my sleigh coloured the way I wanted. After 4 tries and crumpled paper everywhere I gave up and decided to change direction. So I got one of the single sentiments out that I ordered Sending Christmas Blessings I love that sentiment it is also hard to find so I am glad Unity sells it :)

I wanted the sentiment in a circle but my punch was too small so I used a candle to make the circle drew around it cut it out then put the sentiment in the middle. I wanted to make a wreath but I did not have any wreath type things to make it with. So I dug out my hydrangea punch and did the best I could. I used green glitter card to give it some sparkle. I added some red rhinestones and a red ribbon bow. I was going for the Unity colors of the month so needed something brown to add to it. I had a kraft card base that would fit in the colour scheme and added the wreath to it but it looked to plain then I thought I will try and make it into a door.

I had seen some lovely Christmas doors on other blogs and pinterest but they seemed a little elaborate for me and I don't own a die cut machine so the ones I really wanted to make I just did not have the tools for. So I figured I would do my own style I cut out a large square and 2 rectangles. I used my scoreboard to make lines around it to give some dimension.

It needed something else so I sponged a around them with memento  rich cocoa ink. I glued it all together and colored in a white pearl with a brown marker and it actually came out copper so fitted as a door knob nicely.  I added the wreath and here is the finished card it turned out so much better than my sleigh did I just love it :)

Thursday Tag 4

I am having a lot of fun with the tag challenge over at Unity. I was not really interested in tags until this week now I love making them :) I  needed to make my Thursday tag tonight since I am up so early for work I will not have a chance to make anything tomorrow. I decided on an Itty Bitty I have not yet used called a child is born. It is a really sweet Christmas stamp. I wanted to go with non traditional Christmas colours so I went with purple.

I stamped the tag with memento Tuxedo black ink then the sentiment. I then took a dauber and sponged the Grape Jelly all around the edge darker on the outside and then lighter in the middle.  I then went back over the whole tag with Rose Bud. I left the manger white but then decided it needed some colour. So I went with the really light Memento Angel Pink. I added 1 rhinestone on the star just to finish it off :)

Thanks for visiting  ~  Happy Christmas 3 months early  ;)
