Tag Trio Day 5 GIU



 Hello Friends

Welcome to my final day as GIU girl. I must say that I have loved every minute of it and I have enjoyed putting all of my projects together for you to see.

So I wanted to end my week with some distress tags. I love getting messy with my distress inks and using the embossing resist technique. I chose this lovely flower stamp set called  Insightful Meadows. The sentiments are from another stamp set called  The Simple Things.



These were so easy to make I stamped all of the flowers and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 different colours for each tag and swiped them on to my craft sheet. I spritzed some water and let the tag pick up the inks. I dried them 3 or 4 times in between until I had built up the colours I wanted. 



I then stamped out the sentiments on to vellum and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I attached the vellum with glue and glued it at the back of the tags. I finished each one of with some white ribbon.

    I love the colors that you used for these tags. It's hard for me to pick which project that like best....I think I am going to go with 'Weeds and Wishes'. It is so stunning.

    I was going to ask how you did the colors [seriously, I'm new to all this, lol] but you explained it well and I do remember watching a YouTube video similar to how you colored it. Can't wait to try it. I got my Unity stamps yesterday and made a card already...ended up being same colors as Unity's be inspired Challenge so I entered it :D I love your creations. Thanks for sharing!

      btw, what's the best type of paper for this? I tried to color in some plain bookmarks and the paper warped...

      Mine warp too :) When I am finished my tags I put them under heavy books over night and they usually straighten out.

    Hi Mandi!!
    I have loved all your projects for the past few days.

    I was torn between Butterfly Branches GIU Day 3, and today's project, your Tag Trio (Day 5), but as soon as I saw (and read) your last tag, "While I breath, I hope", I KNEW, this was my favorite project. And, that last tag spoke to me so deeply.
    I'm Bipolar and have been having a difficult past few weeks and crafts is all I can relate to when I'm manic. That quote on your gorgeous tag just made my day!

    These are gorgeous, such lovely color! What a fantastic GIU week, thanks for the lovely inspiration! I am normally a huge lover of colors so it surprises me but I think my favorite this week has been your B&W wishes card from day 1, just super stunning!

    it has been so much fun following you this week! I have enjoyed every project! these three tags are amazing and I love the colors! I think my favorite project of the week was the black and white weeds n wishes card from day 1...but its a tough call!

    These are all gorgeous tags Mandi. But, I think my very favorite is the day 1 weeds and wishes black and white card. Congrats again on your giu week. :)

    Wow, these are gorgeous! Love the white embossing with distress ink backgrounds and vellum! My favorite project was probably the branch with the stamped butterflies on kraft. It was so unique and beautiful!

    All of your projects this week were stupendous!! I loved them all but my favorite is probably the fabric covered card on Day 1. I love the fact that you used fabric for the background, and the colors and design are so beautiful! My second favorites were the tags. The colors you used and the stamping on vellum made these really special! I'm following by Google and email now and can't wait to see what else you come up with!

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye balling it and hoping it works out!

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched some hearts from the red leaves and put one inside t

Weeds N Wishes GIU Day 1

Hello Friends Welcome to my first day of my first ever GIU week yay!! I am super excited to be showing you my creations this week with the wonderful Unity stamps :)  I only found out last week I would be the GIU girl this week. I had to switch out my Dec date as I will be in Scotland another yay :) I have two cards for you today with this new stamp set from Unity. I absolutely LOVE dandelions. So when I saw this set I just had to have it. It is called Wish With Your Heart and it is on sale right now for $12 a bargain. I think today is the last day of the sale so if you like it go and grab it quick!! So for my first card I wanted to do another black and white card. I also wanted to use my black distress ink which I bought months ago and have never used. It is called Black Soot and funnily enough it gets everywhere just like the real black soot.
