Another Upcycle Project Using Chalk Paint



Hello Friends

I had so much fun painting law week with my chalk paint I wanted to paint some more. So I got this wee set of drawers at the weekend at the freebie barn. It is a place here in Maine that people take there stuff they no longer want. It's essentially a thrift store only everything is free!! It's a great way to reuse and recycle and I love that.


 I decided to make this one two tone. the previous owner had already stained it a nice chocolate brown colour and I quite liked it. So I only painted the drawer fronts and the top. I used the same Waverly Chalk Paint that I had left from my last project you can read all about that here. I applied two coats of paint unevenly then once it was dry I used scrunched up aluminium foil to distress it.  I love the way it came out.

Happy Valentine's Day - Craft Stamper Inspiration

Hello my friends happy Valentine's Day!  I made this stamped jar for my inspiration project for the  Craft Stamper Challenge today.  This is my husband's old coffee jar that was heading to the recycling bin. I always like to save them and make something with them.  I gave it a couple of coats of white chalk paint and let it air dry. Next I stamped it with memento ink.  The stamp I used is from Unity called  Smooches and Stuff  by Phyllis Harris.  I just love all of her art work. I let that completely dry then used my alcohol markers to colour it.  While I was at the craft store I found this nice heart kraft ribbon in the Valentine section.  I tied it around the top to finish.  I love the way it turned out.
