Winter Wishes - Unity Blog Hop

Hello Friends

Welcome to our GIU blog hop :)  This year was my first time as a growing in unity girl and I loved every minute of it. So this is an added bonus being able to be a part of the blog hop with all the other girls from the last few month's. Unity is such a great company they are so good to us :)  I LOVE my Unity stamps so much!  As you know we are showcasing this weeks stamp of the week for you today.  How cute are those lil trees? I am totally loving the pink and turquoise colour scheme at the moment. So I went with that for my card today.  I coloured  the image with my alcohol markers. Then when it was dry I heat embossed the whole image with clear glitter embossing powder.

I was going for a semi rustic look on this card using the burlap and kraft card as a background. I then paired it with some gold ribbon and glittery snowflakes.

Remember one lucky hopper will get the chance to win a whole month's worth of Stamp of the week from this hop. So leave us a comment if you have not already to be in with a chance to win. Here is the line up of the blogs you should have visited before you got to mine.

  17. WOW Mandi...such a very pretty card. The pink trees remind me of my grandmas aluminum trees back in the 60's. She once had a pink one then silver. I hated those damn things. I got shocked by them if I walked by and a stupid piece of tinsel would touch me LOL. But I LOVE your trees. And that pink burlap??? PERFECT!!

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye b...

Tag Trio Day 5 GIU

Hello Friends Welcome to my final day as GIU girl. I must say that I have loved every minute of it and I have enjoyed putting all of my projects together for you to see. So I wanted to end my week with some distress tags. I love getting messy with my distress inks and using the embossing resist technique. I chose this lovely flower stamp set called  Insightful Meadows . The sentiments are from another stamp set called  The Simple Things . These were so easy to make I stamped all of the flowers and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 different colours for each tag and swiped them on to my craft sheet. I spritzed some water and let the tag pick up the inks. I dried them 3 or 4 times in between until I had built up the colours I wanted.  I then stamped out the sentiments on to vellum and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I attached the vellum with glue and glued it at the back of ...

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched som...
