Distress Tag

Hello Friends I am back with another tag today :) I love getting inspiration from Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2014   So today I actually decided  to play along. I am not fully aware of the rules as I can't seem to find any on his blog. So I used his tag as inspiration and did my own thing as always :)    I don't own a lot the items he made his tag with so I totally improvised and just used what I had. I am trying not to buy any new crafty things in the next few months and just use what I own. As I have way too much craft supplies.  I used Tim's  layout as a guide and used completely different products. It looks NOTHING like his tag at all apart from the layout a little :)  Tim used tissue tape and paint to create a collage background  none of which I own. So I ripped up some newspaper and glued it to the tag to create the print background. Then used Victorian Velvet, Tumbled Glass & picked Raspberry Distress Inks to col...

Chocolate & Friendship

Happy Friday Friends :) I made this quick card for  Friends with flair over at the Unity blog :) I have not made a card for a while I have been busy with bottles and tags lately :)  I love this stamp a lot cause I love chocolate a lot who doesn't right?  It's called  Chocolate & Friendship . I actually used real foil from a chocolate bar I had saved just for this stamp :)   Have a great weekend thanks for visiting  xox Challenges Cas-ual Fridays   Thirds - 3 papers Artisitic Inspirations Challenge Sister Act Simon Says Stamp Wed   Clean and Simple

Butterflies in a Bottle

Hello Friends I wanted to make another upcycled bottle since I loved making the last once so much.  I went with another butterfly theme :) I wanted to make floating butterflies. I got the idea after visiting a butterfly conservatory. So I used one of my favourite stamp sets called A Friend Loveth and some fishing line.  I stamped the images using Versafine Black Onyx and sponged some Spiced Marmalade Distress ink on to them. Once they were dry I cut them all out.    Next I used fishing wire and glued both of the butterflies back to back to each other.  I then coloured the bottle lid with a black sharpie. I pierced a hole in the top with a cork screw, then fed the wire through the top and glued another small butterfly to the lid to hold down the wire. Next for the sentiment at the bottom of the bottle I used another stamp called  Your Wings Exist I thought this sentiment was perfect for my project. ~ Your wings exist ...

Imagine Dream Fly - Bottle

Hello Friends I decided to take part in another  Take It, Make It over at the Craft Stamper blog. This month the challenge is to use a bottle. So I got really adventurous and decided to use a real glass bottle and not a stamped one. This is my very first time altering a bottle.  I did not have any bottles around so I had to go shopping for one. I was in the health food store and saw some fancy lemonade and I loved the shape and it had lettering just below the neck of the bottle that says botanically. It was perfect so I just had to have it. I really had no idea what my theme was going to be until I bought the bottle then I knew I wanted to do something with flowers and butterflies :) I got the idea of actually colouring the bottle with acrylic paint from Pinterest. If I am honest I did not have high hopes of this working out. I have tried many things off of Pinterest and they have failed badly.  I had some paint on hand so I poured some turquois...

Unity Be Inspired April

Hello Friends  I am back with another post :) I just made a card for this months  Be Inspired Challenge over at Unity. I love these colours but if I am honest I had no idea what to do with them. So I got out my Insightful Meadows stamp set and stamped an imaged with distress ink Worn Lipstick. The rest of the card came together after that. I used various colours of card stock to mount the flower image on to. Next I coloured clear gemstones to match the colour scheme. Finally I added a little ribbon to finish it off. I would never think of using all of these colours together but they are really pretty.     Thanks for visiting xox Challenges Crafty Girlz The Cheerful Stamp Pad Love to Scrap

Stamping on Stones

Hello Friends I just got back from a trip to Maine oh how I LOVE the beach. Yes it was cold and we even got some snow, but it was just lovely to walk along the ocean and breathe in that salty air. It soothed my soul :)  Anyway I took my journal with me and some of my stamps as I had planned on doing some art journaling. As you can see that did not happen.  I walked along the beach I thought that it would be fun to stamp on beach stones.  So I took a few stones back to the hotel and stamped away. I only had my Memento ink with me and some Copics. It would have been better to use a different ink as the Memento got sucked right into the porous stone and what should have been a jet black colour was now a dark gray. I used the Wishing You Joy stamp from Unity. The trick to stamping on stones is to NOT use an acrylic block, you need the movement of the stamp as the stones are not completely flat. So I just held the edges of the stamp and just wrapped ...

Things Fall Apart

Hello Friends I am on a butterfly roll this week :) I could not sleep last night so I made this card. I wanted to get it on my blog before I leave for Maine for some beach time :)  The stamps are from Unity the larger butterfly is from the Here Today. Here Tomorrow stamp set. The smaller butterflies are from A Friend Loveth stamp set. The sentiment is a single sentiment called Fall Together this stamp is actually on sale this weekend for only $0.69 super cheap if you want to buy it .   I water coloured the background a very light turquoise and then mounted it on to pink card then a white square card base. I then stamped lots of butterflies and water coloured them a light pink. Once they were dry I added pink glitter to all the butterflies and tiny turquoise gems. I then glued each butterfly only gluing the body to the card and pinching the wings. Finally I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card. I hope you enjoy my card thanks fo...

Dream Big Butterfly Charm

Hello Friends I thought I would make a quick tag for  Friends with Flair :) I created this background with Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade distress inks. I used two Unity Stamps on this tag one of these days I will use just one stamp :) I always like to mix and match my stamps.  The butterfly stamp is called Dream Big and the background stamp is called Newspaper Posies . I used the orange and yellow ink for the background stamp just to add some more dimension to the water marks. Next I used Memento ink to stamp all the butterflies and the sentiment. I added some ribbon and gemstones in the same colour scheme. Then a punched a tiny hole in the corner and added a silver butterfly charm :) I love how it turned out. I do not usually work with these colours but I wanted to do something a wee bit different to my pinks and blues :) I hope you enjoy my tag  :) Thanks for stopping by xox P.S I am also doing a giveaway a huge grab bag of ...

Wishes

Hello Friends I am totally going crazy with my distress inks lately :) I made lots of different tag backgrounds tonight. I wanted to squeeze in a quick tag for the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Challenge . I used a stamp from the Unity Stamp Company called True Wishes . I love this stamp and the little wishes that flow from it. I used Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and made a big ole mess on my craft sheet with lots of water to create the background. I heat embossed the dandelion with white and silver glitter embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment in both colours of the ink and cut out the words and placed it on to opposite colours on the tag. I hope you enjoy my tag. Thanks for visiting xox Challenges   Friends with Flair Paper Wings - Get Inky

Courageous Lion

Hello Again I got my new stamps in the mail yesterday and I had to make another card. I actually started this one last night and I just got around to finishing it.  I LOVE this stamp! The minute I saw it, I had to have it. Phyllis Harris has to be the BEST Children's illustrator I have ever come across. Her drawings of children are just AMAZING. The very first stamp I bought from Unity was the wee girl stamp called Your Wings Exist and I love it.  When I saw this lion stamp I was in awe!!! I love The Chronicles of Narnia and her design was based on that. This one is called Strong & Courageous Boy . There is also a girl version which I also bought and she will be getting inked soon :)  Now on to the card :) I am still working on my colouring skills and I was not having much luck with my alcohol markers. So I decided to paint with distress ink. Yes, everything is painted apart from the flesh colour on the boy which is a copic marker. I used a small paint brush ...

Itty Bitty Day 5 Kraft/Turquoise Tag

Hello Friends This is my day 5 tag for the challenge. I made another kraft tag using Wishing you Joy Itty Bitty. I embossed the flower with white embossing powder and paper pieced the flower with turquoise card. I found this ribbon months ago at Walmart and I finally got to use it on this project. I love the white vines on the turquoise ribbon. I added white and turquoise rhinestones and kept it quite simple. Thanks for stopping by xox Challenges Eureka Stamps Crafty Ribbon

Itty Bitty day 4 - Distress Ink Joy

Hello Friends I went a bit crazy with my distress inks for this tag :) I love getting messy with these inks. I love purple so I decided to go with that for today's colour scheme. I used Dusty Concord for the bottom colour and Milled Lavender for the top colour. I sponged the tag and sprayed a lot of water so the colours would bleed together. I dried it with my heat gun and sprayed more water until I was happy with the background effect. I used the flower from the Feel the Joy stamp set. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder so that the white colour would pop. I created the words with an alphabet stamp set I got free with Papercraft Essentials Magazine. Finally I added some rhinestones and ribbon. Thanks for visiting xox Challenges Simon Says Stamp Monday Friends with Flair Sister Act Challenge   Eureka Stamps

Itty bitty Day 3 - Posies

Good Morning Friends Here is a tag I made for today's challenge. I used the Newspaper Posies stamp on this tag. I used a kraft card as the base and stamped my flowers on to cream card and fussy cut them out. I coloured in insides with a spun sugar distress marker. I added some tiny gemstones and glued them all on. I that tied some satin ribbon to finish off the tag. Hope you Enjoy xox

The spotty paper and ribbon is from Recollections at Michaels.
