Distress Tag

Hello Friends

I am back with another tag today :) I love getting inspiration from Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2014  So today I actually decided  to play along. I am not fully aware of the rules as I can't seem to find any on his blog. So I used his tag as inspiration and did my own thing as always :)

I don't own a lot the items he made his tag with so I totally improvised and just used what I had. I am trying not to buy any new crafty things in the next few months and just use what I own. As I have way too much craft supplies.  I used Tim's  layout as a guide and used completely different products. It looks NOTHING like his tag at all apart from the layout a little :)

Tim used tissue tape and paint to create a collage background  none of which I own. So I ripped up some newspaper and glued it to the tag to create the print background. Then used Victorian Velvet, Tumbled Glass & picked Raspberry Distress Inks to colour it.

Next Tim used grunge board, cork and mirrored card. Which again I don't have so my take on his design was using stamps and rhinestones :)

I used  paper flowers and distressed them instead of the pine cone die Tim used. I also distressed some lace and glued it around the bottom of the tag before attaching the flower. I then tied my charm with some black ribbon. Finally I stamped some butterflies and coloured with the same inks to give the tag some more definition.

This is totally not my usual style of crafting. But I love just trying new things and really liked the way it turned out.  I love experimenting with new techniques. I hope you enjoy my tag and find some inspiration to create your own.
Thanks for visiting xox

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye b...

Tag Trio Day 5 GIU

Hello Friends Welcome to my final day as GIU girl. I must say that I have loved every minute of it and I have enjoyed putting all of my projects together for you to see. So I wanted to end my week with some distress tags. I love getting messy with my distress inks and using the embossing resist technique. I chose this lovely flower stamp set called  Insightful Meadows . The sentiments are from another stamp set called  The Simple Things . These were so easy to make I stamped all of the flowers and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 different colours for each tag and swiped them on to my craft sheet. I spritzed some water and let the tag pick up the inks. I dried them 3 or 4 times in between until I had built up the colours I wanted.  I then stamped out the sentiments on to vellum and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I attached the vellum with glue and glued it at the back of ...

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched som...
