Friends with Flair last one of 2013

Hello Friends!!  I finally made it home to Scotland I am enjoying being home :)  I made this card right before I left New York and wanted to enter it to the final 2013  Friends with Flair :)  I coloured this card with distress inks using a paint brush and sponge. I need to work on my technique a little but I am happy with the way it came out. I used my new Phyllis Harris stamp Reach for the STARS you can find it here . Thanks for visiting I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have blessed 2014 when it comes around see you next year :)

Unity Friends with Flair

Hello Friends! I hope you have all had a wonderful week :) Here is my  Friends with Flair entry for this week. I used a white, gray and turquoise colour scheme, it was based on the tag I made a few months ago you can see it  HERE .  I wanted to make a card version this time and add some more detail to it.  I used feel the joy stamp for the flowers, the sentiment is from the  Every Breath stamp  set and the butterfly is from A Friend Loveth stamp set.  I embossed some of the flowers with white embossing powder and left some with just a water mark using VersaMark ink. I really like the effect it creates.  I hope you enjoy my card :) Are you all ready for Christmas??  I wish I could say I am but I am not.  I was meant to fly to Scotland last weekend but got sick with a horrible virus. So we  had to cancel our flights and rebook we now leave this Sunday yay :)  I need to run out tomorrow and get some last minut...

Butterfly Candle Sleeve

Hello Friends!  I have another candle sleeve project to share with you. I finished the last of my coconut oil last night and was left with the empty jar. I thought it would make a good tea light candle holder. So I made a butterfly sleeve to go around it :) It is a super easy project you just stamp and heat emboss on to vellum. The steps are exactly the same as the last one I made you can find the details HERE . The only difference is I attached this one to the jar with glue and added some ribbon. It is so pretty even my husband was impressed with this one :)   I used glitter embossing powder on this one hopefully you can see it in the picture above. The butterfly is from the Unity Stamp Company you can find it HERE :)  Here it is with the one I made last time  :)  Thanks for visiting :)

Aqua Blossom

Happy Friday Crafting Friends :)  It's time for friends with flair over at the Unity Blog . I love seeing all the creations on Friday's :) Here is this weeks entry,  I used the Angie girl: Dream with your Heart kit and the Happy Birthday sentiment. Can you tell I love embossing powder? It is very addictive :) I sponged the card with ColorBox Aqua ink and stamped the smaller flowers with VersaMark ink then embossed it in white. I stamped the larger flowers on to vellum and embossed them also. Then glued them around the edge of the inked section.    Hope you like my card :) This will probably be my last post for a while I am flying home to Scotland tomorrow for Christmas. So  I won't get a chance to make anything unless I take some supplies on the plane - which I  might :)  Thanks for visiting have a great weekend :)

Unity Blog Hop

Hello Friends! I am so excited today as I get to hop with the wonderful Unity design team. I was so thrilled to have won last month's be inspired challenge and this was part of the prize yay!  I should be your final stop on the hop line up. It started on the  Unity Blog so head on back there at any time or if you get lost along the way.  As soon as I saw the colours for this month's challenge, I thought of a steamy mug of chocolate and a candy cane yum! It must be the season :)  I created two projects to share with you today I hope you enjoy them. http://www.theunitystampco-challenge.blogspot.com/ Here is the first card I made using the challenge colours. I went with the colour block technique and used 3 different Unity stamps Happy Birthday, Key to my heart and Dragonfly of Beauty.  I find it hard to use just one stamp set I really like to mix them up. I sponged a block of colour with two different inks. Then embossed the dragonflies with white a...

God's Timing

Happy Friday friends It's time for Friends with Flair over at the Unity  blog :)  I got an early birthday present from my hubby new ink yay :)  I was never really a fan of distress inks  I bought them before and ended up  giving them away as I could not get into them. I decided I would  give them another try and this time around I LOVE them :) I think the trick is learning how to use them. I was using them too much like regular ink and that turned out too messy for me. I love how you can create your own backgrounds with them and the colours stay so vibrant.  I used 3 different Unity stamps on this card. I love this sentiment God's timing is perfect it is something I need to be reminded of. It worked perfectly with the butterfly and script stamps and makes a really nice encouragement card. I love the faith stamps available at Unity they are so unique.  I stamped the the sentiment and script stamp with versamark ink then ...

Oh Christmas Tree

I am busy trying to get ready for my craft fair next week I made a couple of these tree cards to sell. They are pretty easy to make all you need is the Martha Stewart Branch Punch and some patience :) It took me a while to sort all the branches. I glued a section on the card then attached some branches then did it again until  the whole thing was done. I then trimmed around the branches to give it a clean tree shape. I am not sure how many branches I used but it was close to a whole sheet of 12 x 12 card stock :) ~ Supplies ~ Martha Stewart  - Branch Punch Unity Stamp Company - Christmas Teddy ( Merry Christmas Sentiment) Red Rhinestones Green DCWV Card Bazzill White Glitter Card Red Ribbon Memento Ink - Rhubarb Stalk Thanks for stopping by :)

The Greatest Gift

When I first saw this stamp on the Unity website I just had to have it. This is such a lovely Christmas stamp and it is unlike anything else I have seen before. I love Unity for that that they have really great unique stamps. We often get lost in hustle and bustle this time of year but this is a such a great reminder of what Christmas is really is all about. This is a really easy card to make the hard part was choosing the colours :)  I stamped the sentiment and image on the same piece of card then coloured it. I mounted it on to some coordinating card and adhered it to the card base.  ~ Supplies ~  Unity Stamp Company - The Greatest Gift is Baby Jesus Memento Ink Black Tuxedo DCWV  Matstack - All Dressed Up Copic Markers Thanks for visiting :)
