Unity Blog Hop

Hello Friends!

I am so excited today as I get to hop with the wonderful Unity design team. I was so thrilled to have won last month's be inspired challenge and this was part of the prize yay!  I should be your final stop on the hop line up. It started on the Unity Blog so head on back there at any time or if you get lost along the way.

As soon as I saw the colours for this month's challenge, I thought of a steamy mug of chocolate and a candy cane yum! It must be the season :)  I created two projects to share with you today I hope you enjoy them.

http://www.theunitystampco-challenge.blogspot.com/

Here is the first card I made using the challenge colours. I went with the colour block technique and used 3 different Unity stamps Happy Birthday, Key to my heart and Dragonfly of Beauty.  I find it hard to use just one stamp set I really like to mix them up. I sponged a block of colour with two different inks. Then embossed the dragonflies with white and copper embossing powder.  I used a spoon to get the powder exactly where I needed it to go. I love how the colours contrast against the white card.

.

If you know me and my cards you know I LOVE butterflies. Last weekend I got to visit a butterfly conservatory for my birthday. It was the most beautiful place. I could have sat there all day and watched them flutter away.  This is one of the photos I took that inspired my next card.

This is my second card that is based loosely on the card sketch. I used my two favourite stamps sets on this one Insightful Meadows and A Friend Loveth. I sponged the background with distress ink and then embossed the images with black and white embossing powder. I cut the image into three then mounted them on to card and placed my little embossed butterflies on each panel.  I just love it!

I hope you enjoyed today's blog hop and are left feeling inspired to go and create. Remember and leave a comment on all of the blogs today to be in with a chance to win the prize. You can head back to the Unity blog and get some more inspiration. Thanks for visiting have a blessed day.

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye b...

Tag Trio Day 5 GIU

Hello Friends Welcome to my final day as GIU girl. I must say that I have loved every minute of it and I have enjoyed putting all of my projects together for you to see. So I wanted to end my week with some distress tags. I love getting messy with my distress inks and using the embossing resist technique. I chose this lovely flower stamp set called  Insightful Meadows . The sentiments are from another stamp set called  The Simple Things . These were so easy to make I stamped all of the flowers and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 different colours for each tag and swiped them on to my craft sheet. I spritzed some water and let the tag pick up the inks. I dried them 3 or 4 times in between until I had built up the colours I wanted.  I then stamped out the sentiments on to vellum and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I attached the vellum with glue and glued it at the back of ...

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched som...
