DIY Christmas Wrapping Paper

                                                              Hello My lovely friends

I made my own wrapping paper last night by stamping on to plain brown paper.

I was experimenting with different stamps and inks and paint.

This is the one I loved the most using white craft paint.

This paper actually looks like a fancy roll I saw in a shop a few weeks ago that was really expensive.

My brown paper only cost a pound from the pound shop.

I had everything else in the house so it was basically free to make!!

I love the way they turned out. It looks so pretty!!

I will tell you that this is quite time consuming as you need to wait on the paint to dry.

I just stamped a section at a time and then did other projects in between drying times.

Which was about 20 mins but you could also use a heat took to speed up the drying.

I think it was totally worth the time it takes to make this cause it turned out beautiful.

And you will also have wrapping paper that you made and no one else has.

All you need is white craft paint and any rubber stamp.

I used this large snowflake from the Unity this is from the Midnight Kisses KOTM.

I love this stamp because it is huge!! I found that if you use a bigger stamp it covers more space.

All you do is pour a THIN layer of craft paint on to a plate or flat surface.

If you paint is too thick it will leave too much on the stamp and you will not have a good impression.

Then take your stamp and press into your plate of paint.

You can use a paint brush to cover any areas that it did pick up paint.

You can also just paint the stamp with paint if you prefer.

Then stamp on to your paper.

Take note it does not make a perfect image of the stamp but the impression is lovely all the same.

Also just like snowflakes everyone is different :)

Once it was dry I wrapped my presents.

I put a gemstone in the middle of each snowflake that faced the front of each present.

Then to finish I tied some string.

I hope you love my wrapping paper as much as I do.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!!

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye b...

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched som...

Tag Trio Day 5 GIU

Hello Friends Welcome to my final day as GIU girl. I must say that I have loved every minute of it and I have enjoyed putting all of my projects together for you to see. So I wanted to end my week with some distress tags. I love getting messy with my distress inks and using the embossing resist technique. I chose this lovely flower stamp set called  Insightful Meadows . The sentiments are from another stamp set called  The Simple Things . These were so easy to make I stamped all of the flowers and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 different colours for each tag and swiped them on to my craft sheet. I spritzed some water and let the tag pick up the inks. I dried them 3 or 4 times in between until I had built up the colours I wanted.  I then stamped out the sentiments on to vellum and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I attached the vellum with glue and glued it at the back of ...
