Grow Your Wings

Hello Friends  I hope you all had a good week. It is getting hot here in upstate New York. I think we went from winter to summer in the space of a week. It was 82 yesterday yikes!! Anyway I have some really good news that I want to share with you but I will do that in a bit. Let's get to my card first. I bought this stamp last week in the Unity Birthday sale another butterfly to add to my collection :) I really love the sentiment GROW YOUR WINGS. I kept this card pretty simple I used Kraft card and white embossing powder 2 of my favourite combinations. I heat embossed  the butterfly on the card then cut out a separate one and glued it on top to give it a 3 dimensional look. I stamped a swirl flourish on opposite corners. One set I made white with the embossing powder the other side I left plain with just the Versamark ink.  I mounted it on to a white card base then added some tiny pearls and the card was complete. Now on to my Happy news I am super excited ab...

Perfect Posies

Hello Friends! I hope you all had a great week :)  Here is my card I made for Friends with Flair this week. I inked up this stamp called Perfect Pair of Posies . I bought it months ago and have never used it. I was cleaning out my stamps and found this one tucked away at the bottom of the basket. I created the background with the stamp and coloured the centre of the flowers with a tan marker. Next I mounted it to brown card, then a kraft card base. I added a brown strip of card near the bottom and trimmed it with ribbon. The Best Wishes sentiment is from the Heartfelt Sentiments kit. I fixed it on top of the card strip, along with 2 of the posies that were cut out and layered. I added some rhinestones to finish it off.   Thanks for visiting - Have a great weekend :)

Happy Wednesday I am home today recovering from a wisdom tooth I had removed yesterday ouch! So I thought I get my mind off the pain and get creative. I have been wanting to take part in the Unity Be Inspired card challenge for a while so today is a good day to make my card nothing like last minute :) Today is the last day to enter if you want to take part hop on over to here :)      My card is loosely based on this design                                                                          Supplies                               ...

Tag 6

I thought the tags finished up yesterday over at the Unity show and tell facebook page. But they are going til the 30th so I had some time to make another one today. I am not really sure what I was going for here but I ran with it whatever it is :) Bling overload comes to mind that is for sure :)  Here are my supplies and stamps I used. ~ Unity - Your Wings Exist ~ ~  Unity - Angie girl: Dream With Your Heart ~ ~ Memento Tuexedo Black Ink ~ ~ Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch ~    I stamped the sentiment onto the tag then stamped the flowers all around to create a border. I then just added lots of bling rhinestones and pearls to the flowers. I punched 2 tiny butterflies and then added some back lace to the the top.   Hope your having a great weekend - Enjoy :)

Wings

I am moving house this weekend yikes!! I still have a lot to do but I came across this card I made a couple weeks ago. I kept meaning to upload it and never got around to it so I thought I would before it gets packed away :).   I just love butterflies can you tell?? :)  Angela posted this quote  to her Facebook page few weeks ago and it really spoke to my soul.  "When you find yourself cocooned in isolation and cannot find your way out of the darkness, remember that this is similar to the place where caterpillars go to grow their wings."  I then saw another version of it on Pinterest later on. So I took it as confirmation I just had to do something crafty with it :) I love it when I find something that just inspires me to create. I got out my favourite butterfly stamp I use this one all the time. A friend loveth you can buy it here . I printed the words from my computer. Then stamped 2 ...

Unity Colour Challenge

I have been missing in action lately I am getting ready to move house soon so my card making has fallen by the wayside.  While I was cleaning out my crafty things I made a quick card.  I really wanted to take part in the Unity Challenge this time as I just love the colour scheme this month.  If you want to join in the challenge pop over to here :)     I used the Angie Girl - Dream with your heart stamp you can get it here at Unity Stamp Company :) I stamped the girl in brown memento ink and also the flowers around the edge. I then coloured the flowers and her dress using the turquoise and orange/yellow alcohol pens I will get the numbers or them later. I punched flowers and coloured them to match and mounted it onto kraft card :)    Thanks for visiting :)

Happy Monday

Happy Monday :) Welcome to another week of Itty Bitty card making. So I thought I would use a stamp that has not yet seen some ink. It is called You Always it is a cute lil owl :) I used kraft card stamped it and then paper pieced it with paper called  Blue and White stars by Recollections. I stamped the sentiment beside the the owl and decided it needed  little something else. So I punched some love hearts in different sizes and layered them at the bottom of the card. It will make a nice birthday card for my husband :)  Thanks for stopping by :)

Simple cards for men

Cards for men are hard for me to make as I love all things girly butterflies and flowers :) I needed to make a few cards as my card stash was getting low. So I decided on some quick and easy kraft cards. I made a few of these they are super simple.  I used some striped card from the DCWV Linen Closet collection. I cut strips of card of various sizes and made a V shape at one end. I then punched some stars and added them at them below the strips. I added a final strip at the bottom of the card since it was looking too bare. I used the Happy Birthday Bitty Itty Bitty sentiment from Unity and 2 tiny blue pearls to finish it off. I think it has to be the easiest card I have ever made  :) Hope you like it thanks for visiting.

Monday Unity Itty Bitty challenge

I took part in the Itty Bitty A Day Challenge going on this week.  We have to use an Itty Bitty stamp so I chose the  Here Today, Here Tomorrow stamp set.  I thought it would be fun and I LOVE my Unity stamps. I also have an obsession with butterflies :) I stamped the butterfly on Kraft card using white pigment ink then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added a strip of blue card from the DCWV Citrus Matstack and placed it along the bottom of the card. I mounted the sentiment then added some pearls. I then glittered up some of the butterflies. I think it turned out pretty good :) ~ Thanks for stopping by Have a Blessed day ~
