Summer Blooms

Happy Friday Friends :)

I have been super busy this week and not had much time to craft. I started making this card last week. I painted the flowers with my watercolours. So I  just had to finish it off with the sentiment, ribbon and rhinestones today. The sentiment is from a grab bag and the flower is from the lovely Angie Blom Kit called  Bloom & Simplify.  I am really loving that blue and green colour combination it is so fresh and summery  :)

Butterfly Colour Burst

Hello my lovely friends!
I hope your week is going well. It's FREEZING here in NY and more snow is coming our way!! It is too cold to go anywhere so I am using that time to craft :)  I created this background by using acrylic paint mixed with water and splattered it with a paint brush. The butterflies were created the same way, only I painted them blue first.  I then stamped the butterflies on top of the paint with Memento ink and cut them out. I used some hot pink ribbon and rhinestones to add more colour.

The stamps I used today -  A Friend Loveth & Happy Birthday from Unity.

Perfect Posies

Hello Friends!

I hope you all had a great week :)  Here is my card I made for Friends with Flair this week. I inked up this stamp called Perfect Pair of Posies. I bought it months ago and have never used it. I was cleaning out my stamps and found this one tucked away at the bottom of the basket.

I created the background with the stamp and coloured the centre of the flowers with a tan marker. Next I mounted it to brown card, then a kraft card base. I added a brown strip of card near the bottom and trimmed it with ribbon. The Best Wishes sentiment is from the Heartfelt Sentiments kit. I fixed it on top of the card strip, along with 2 of the posies that were cut out and layered. I added some rhinestones to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting - Have a great weekend :)

White/Pink/Grey FWF

Happy New Year Friends :) This is my first post of 2014. I Just got back from Scotland yesterday. I really enjoyed my trip home. It was such a nice break but I have missed my crafting :)

Here is my card for this weeks friends with flair over at the Unity Blog.  I used the Insightful Meadows stamp set and the Happy Birthday sentiment. I heat embossed a row of flowers with white embossing powder. Then stamped over it again just a little higher with just the VersaMark Ink to create some shadows. I added the sentiment and the ribbon to finish it off  :)

Thanks for visiting have a great weekend :)

Aqua Blossom

Happy Friday Crafting Friends :)

It's time for friends with flair over at the Unity Blog. I love seeing all the creations on Friday's :)
Here is this weeks entry,  I used the Angie girl: Dream with your Heart kit and the Happy Birthday sentiment. Can you tell I love embossing powder? It is very addictive :) I sponged the card with ColorBox Aqua ink and stamped the smaller flowers with VersaMark ink then embossed it in white. I stamped the larger flowers on to vellum and embossed them also. Then glued them around the edge of the inked section.

Hope you like my card :) This will probably be my last post for a while I am flying home to Scotland tomorrow for Christmas. So  I won't get a chance to make anything unless I take some supplies on the plane - which I  might :)  Thanks for visiting have a great weekend :)

Unity Blog Hop

Hello Friends!

I am so excited today as I get to hop with the wonderful Unity design team. I was so thrilled to have won last month's be inspired challenge and this was part of the prize yay!  I should be your final stop on the hop line up. It started on the Unity Blog so head on back there at any time or if you get lost along the way.

As soon as I saw the colours for this month's challenge, I thought of a steamy mug of chocolate and a candy cane yum! It must be the season :)  I created two projects to share with you today I hope you enjoy them.

http://www.theunitystampco-challenge.blogspot.com/

Here is the first card I made using the challenge colours. I went with the colour block technique and used 3 different Unity stamps Happy Birthday, Key to my heart and Dragonfly of Beauty.  I find it hard to use just one stamp set I really like to mix them up. I sponged a block of colour with two different inks. Then embossed the dragonflies with white and copper embossing powder.  I used a spoon to get the powder exactly where I needed it to go. I love how the colours contrast against the white card.

.

If you know me and my cards you know I LOVE butterflies. Last weekend I got to visit a butterfly conservatory for my birthday. It was the most beautiful place. I could have sat there all day and watched them flutter away.  This is one of the photos I took that inspired my next card.

This is my second card that is based loosely on the card sketch. I used my two favourite stamps sets on this one Insightful Meadows and A Friend Loveth. I sponged the background with distress ink and then embossed the images with black and white embossing powder. I cut the image into three then mounted them on to card and placed my little embossed butterflies on each panel.  I just love it!

I hope you enjoyed today's blog hop and are left feeling inspired to go and create. Remember and leave a comment on all of the blogs today to be in with a chance to win the prize. You can head back to the Unity blog and get some more inspiration. Thanks for visiting have a blessed day.

Little Bear

I have been working on lots of cards for my upcoming craft fair. I love this little bear I made him into a Birthday bear as well as the Christmas one that he came as :)  Why just have him around for Christmas when you can have him out all year long right?  You can find him here over at Unity Stamp Company.  The Birthday sentiment is also a unity stamp you can find that here. I used Darice embossing folders to create the backgrounds and the coloured card is from Bazzill.

Thanks for visiting :)

Bright Blossoms

I was in the mood for making a bright flowery card and wanted to do something a wee bit different. I love this flower stamp so much I use it all the time it reminds me a lot of cherry blossoms. I was going for a funky two tone effect. I sponged half  the card diagonally with rose bud memento ink then stamped the flowers using versamark ink. I heat embossed the flowers with white embossing powder to make them stand out. I stamped the white side of the card using the rose bud ink.  I sprinkled rhinestones around the flowers and the Birthday sentiment in the middle to finish it off :)

Friends with Flair @ Unity

Here is my Unity Friends with Flair entry.  I used my Feel the Joy stamp and used the generation stamping technique with memento ink. I then sponged the background in purple and deep pink pigment ink.  I mounted it on to white card and added the Happy Birthday sentiment at the bottom. It looked too plain so I added teeny weeny little butterflies from the butterfly punch from Martha Stewart.  P.S I ran out of daubers and all I could find was a magic eraser it did the trick as a makeshift sponge :)

If you want to take part hop along to Unity and enter here

I just had to make another card I just love this stamp I wish I had gotten it sooner it is so versatile. I think it may be my new favourite Unity Stamp :)

Simple cards for men

Cards for men are hard for me to make as I love all things girly butterflies and flowers :) I needed to make a few cards as my card stash was getting low. So I decided on some quick and easy kraft cards. I made a few of these they are super simple.  I used some striped card from the DCWV Linen Closet collection. I cut strips of card of various sizes and made a V shape at one end. I then punched some stars and added them at them below the strips. I added a final strip at the bottom of the card since it was looking too bare. I used the Happy Birthday Bitty Itty Bitty sentiment from Unity and 2 tiny blue pearls to finish it off.

I think it has to be the easiest card I have ever made  :) Hope you like it thanks for visiting.
