Flag Tag

Hello Friends

I wanted to take part in the Unity red white and blue challenge on facebook. So this is what I came up with I will call it the flag tag.  As an immigrant  and a naturalized citizen. I had to do a lot of reading about the history of America for my citizenship test. I guess this is my interpretation about what America means to me.  I used the colours and the stars from the flag. The butterfly represents freedom and the sentiment represents  one nation under God.

I used distress inks to create my background on a kraft tag. I really love to get messy using these inks. I still have rainbow fingers lots of ink that won't come off  ha. I stamped them on to my craft mat and spritzed some water and let the ink do it's thing. I heat set the ink then applied some more until I was happy with the outcome.

I stamped the butterfly on to vellum I used white embossing powder and heat set it. I did the same thing with the sentiment. I did not have any star stamps so I used a my star punch. I punched some stars to create a stencil then embossed them down the side of my tag with white glitter embossing powder.  I glued the butterfly and added some rhinestones. Finally I got some crinkle ribbon and used my distress inks to colour it to match the tag.

I really love the way it turned out. Thanks so much to stopping by.

Be Still - Tag

Hello Friends
I made this tag for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge.  I made my own tag from some scrap card stock.  I used the emboss resist technique. Stamping the flowers and heat embossing them with white embossing powder. I used Ranger Distress Inks and sponged them over the tag. The ink naturally resists the stamped image. I let it dry then stamped the old letter stamp across the tag with the same inks. Then sprayed a little water to create some water marks.  I used the same technique with the sentiment then cut it up and glued it on to the tag. I dyed the ribbon with the same inks. I added some gemstones that were in the same colour scheme to finish off the tag.

God's Timing - Flowers

Happy Friday Friends

Here is a quick card I made for for Friends with Flair. I paper pieced the flower with the matching background paper. It is a really deep shade of pink almost close to red in colour. I used 3 different unity stamps on this one. God's Timing, Feel the Joy & Wishing You Joy.  I could not decide what flower to use so I just stamped them both :)

Tag 7

I'm still doing tags this is day 7. I must admit I am getting addicted to making them :)  Today's tag is a mish mash of stamps again. I like to mix them up a bit. I really like this sentiment God's timing is perfect, Trust it. You can find it here and the other stamp set is The simple things you can find that here also. I love that stamp set it is so versatile.

I really like making borders with stamps so I did that again with this tag. I took some purple card stock and cut out a tag. I stamped all around using Versamark ink in then added white embossing powder and set it with the heat gun. I then stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on to white card and then cut it out. I went around the edges with Colorbox silver ink then glued them onto the tag. I went around the whole tag with the silver ink also and it created a very soft border.  I added a few rhinestones and some white ribbon and it was done :)

Day 2 Itty Bitty

Welcome to Tuesday's card challenge. I went back to my favourite Itty Bitty butterfly stamps today- A Friend Loveth. I used the sentiment from one of the Phyllis Harris kits at Unity called Your Wings Exist.  I love this stamp set it is my all time favourite.

I used the generation stamping technique with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Using the same ink on the stamp you can get 2 or 3 images they get lighter as you stamp. I have also seen it called shadow stamping.

The big butterfly was stamped in 1st generation and the smaller butterflies were stamped in 2nd and 3rd generation to make them look lighter. I then sponged the card in turquoise pigment ink darker around the edge then mounted it on to white card and added the sentiment.

I love how it turned my favourite scripture paired with my love of butterflies :) Thanks for visiting!
