Your Wings Exist GIU Day 2

Hello Friends Welcome to my day 2 of GIU. This wee girl is where my love of Unity all began. I saw her on a random post on Facebook and I absolutely loved with her. I had never seen stamps this adorable. I found the Unity page then discovered they were stamps designed by Phyllis Harris and she had a whole collection of them.  Phyllis captures the essence of childhood perfectly in her designs they are so amazing. I had only planned on buying one stamp set. Yes just one!! But when it arrived it was so nicely packaged and it stamped beautifully.  So from that moment on I was hooked. I went from 1 stamp to 3 baskets full in less than a year! This stamp will always hold a special place in my heart, It is called Your Wings Exist . I used my watercolour paints on my projects. I am no expert by any means at painting but I find them much easier to work with than alcohol markers. I am not great at colouring and the paints give a much softer finish. I find I can be too hea...

Butterfly Girl

Hello Friends I played along with this month's  Be Inspired Challenge  over at the Unity blog. These are the colours for this month they are so pretty!  So I got out my new  Kennedy Girl stamp and painted her with watercolours. Next added lots of gems to her wings and two tiny punched butterflies in opposite corners. I heat embossed the sentiment with turquoise embossing powder. Finally I layered the card on to some yellow card before adhering to the blue card base.  Thanks for visiting :)  Challenges Simon Says Stamp Monday - Paint Butterfly Challenge   Gems/Butterflies/Punches

Wishing for Spring

Hello Friends We got lots of snow here in upstate New York I got to stay home today yay. It's still snowing as I type I think we have about 10 inches so far.  I also have a nasty cold again :(   It has been such a long winter I am ready for it to be over. I am longing for spring. So I just had to make spring like card until it gets here :) I love all the wee girl stamps from Phyllis Harris so I got out this one from the Unity Stamp Company it is called Every Breath .  I think it is my favourite one.  The other stamp I used is from Rubbernecker stamps it's called Dandelion Garden Border .  I sponged the background with distress inks peacock feathers & mowed lawn. Then I heat embossed the dandelions with white glitter embossing powder. I paper pieced the girl and cut her out. Then glued her to the card along with some tiny punched butterflies. The inside of the card is stamped with the sentiment ''Sending blessings you way'' from the same kit as the ...

Make a wish

I have been playing away with my stamps most of this weekend. I now have a giant mess on my craft table but I am having fun with all my creating. I just don't like the cleaning up part. I wish there was a cleaning fairy that took care of that :) I love this wee girl from the  Phyllis Harris collection. This is one of my favourite stamps so adorable you can find it here over at Unity Stamp Company .  I stamped her onto white card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then paper pieced her dress from some paper from DCWV Girlhood Stack and added the same paper as a background to the card. Coloured  with Spectrum Noir markers and added some glitter glue to the wish that she is blowing then heated it with my heat gun to make up a little puffy.                                       Close Up Inside   Thanks for stopping by  :) I am entering this ca...

Wednesday Tag

Day 3 already :) I pulled out my fav stamp from the Phyllis Harris collection Every Breath for today's tag I just love all of her girl stamps. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then paper pieced her dress with some scrap paper im not sure what kind. But I know it came from Michael's so it may be recollections. I then colored using alcohol markers. I added some flowers to the bottom as it looked a little bare then used some Icicle Stickles on the flowers and the wish she is blowing. The flower stamp is from stampin up. I then cut out the sentiment and inked around every word with memento rose bud ink then glued it on to the tag :)                                 I think she turned out really pretty in her polka dot dress :)              ...

Unity Colour Challenge

I have been missing in action lately I am getting ready to move house soon so my card making has fallen by the wayside.  While I was cleaning out my crafty things I made a quick card.  I really wanted to take part in the Unity Challenge this time as I just love the colour scheme this month.  If you want to join in the challenge pop over to here :)     I used the Angie Girl - Dream with your heart stamp you can get it here at Unity Stamp Company :) I stamped the girl in brown memento ink and also the flowers around the edge. I then coloured the flowers and her dress using the turquoise and orange/yellow alcohol pens I will get the numbers or them later. I punched flowers and coloured them to match and mounted it onto kraft card :)    Thanks for visiting :)
