Mermaid Life

Hello Friends

I got out my Brusho's last night and had a wee play around.  I was feeling a little stressed so I wanted to make a mess and get into my happy place and craft. I made a few cards and this is one of them.  I have wanted to get this stamp out for a long time. So I finally did and I think the Brusho's worked perfecly for the sea scene. I used two colours of Brusho the sea green and turquoise.  I water coloured the mermaid and the dolphin, then went over them with Matallic Gelatos to give that silvery wet water look.

I really love this stamp set from Unity. It is one of the designs from the lovely Phyllis Harris called Depth of Life. I Love her work so much. I have a LOT of her stamps they are just stunning.  This one is so unique too I don't think I have ever seen a dolphin and mermaid stamp.

I hope you love my card as much as I do! Thanks so much for stopping by today.

  3. This is WONDERFUL, Mandi!! I adore your underwater look with the Brushos and the free-form painting of the mermaid's hair. Love the silvery sheen you put on your dolphin, too!

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye b...

Happy Valentine's Day - Craft Stamper Inspiration

Hello my friends happy Valentine's Day!  I made this stamped jar for my inspiration project for the  Craft Stamper Challenge today.  This is my husband's old coffee jar that was heading to the recycling bin. I always like to save them and make something with them.  I gave it a couple of coats of white chalk paint and let it air dry. Next I stamped it with memento ink.  The stamp I used is from Unity called  Smooches and Stuff  by Phyllis Harris.  I just love all of her art work. I let that completely dry then used my alcohol markers to colour it.  While I was at the craft store I found this nice heart kraft ribbon in the Valentine section.  I tied it around the top to finish.  I love the way it turned out. I hope you have some time to come and join in this month's challenge with us.  As always we have wonderful prizes up for grabs.  All of the details ca...
