Time Out Guest Designer

Hello Friends

I am excited to be joining the lovely ladies over at the Time Out Challenges blog today. This is my prize for winning the hearts blog challenge a few weeks ago. I get to be a guest designer YAY!! Thank you so much for such a great prize.

This is also their first birthday woo hoo ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY ~  Time Out Challenges!!!

Today they have a new challenge which is inspired by this photo.

Look at all of those lovely colours!!I wanted to keep my card really simple and let the colours speak for themselves.

I had the perfect stamps in mind for my card. This little row of  Heart Strings from Unity. I just bought them recently so this was a great time to use them.  I coloured them with my distress inks Picked Raspberry & Salty Ocean. Then I stamped the birthday sentiment from the Sweet Elle stamp set underneath using VersaFine ink.

Next I added some green sequins. It looked a little flat still so I got out my Stickles and applied some sparkle to the hearts and the sequins. I think the sequins now take on the look of enamel dots thanks to the glue. I love happy accidents like that don't you?  I then mounted it on to black card and then a polka dot card base that I made from Recollections card that I got at Michaels. Finally I tied some black twine to finish off my card.

I love the way all of the colours come together. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. If you have some time come and join in this fun challenge.

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye b...

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched som...

Tag Trio Day 5 GIU

Hello Friends Welcome to my final day as GIU girl. I must say that I have loved every minute of it and I have enjoyed putting all of my projects together for you to see. So I wanted to end my week with some distress tags. I love getting messy with my distress inks and using the embossing resist technique. I chose this lovely flower stamp set called  Insightful Meadows . The sentiments are from another stamp set called  The Simple Things . These were so easy to make I stamped all of the flowers and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 different colours for each tag and swiped them on to my craft sheet. I spritzed some water and let the tag pick up the inks. I dried them 3 or 4 times in between until I had built up the colours I wanted.  I then stamped out the sentiments on to vellum and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I attached the vellum with glue and glued it at the back of ...
