Hello Love

Hello Friends

I was playing around with my crafts over the weekend and this is one of the cards I made. The hello love stamp is from the Unity Warmth of Winter KOM stamp set.  I love this set so much! I have set myself a challenge to try and make something with every stamp in this kit. I usually only buy kits for a certain stamp and never really use the rest of them. What a waste right? I am known to be quite frugal so I thought I would put it into practice ha! I want to use every single stamp in this kit and put it to good use. I started with this one which is a stamp I would not normally have used.

I caught my eye on a new to me product last week, embossing glitter paste. My crafty friend Terri made a lovely card with it last week have a look at her card here.

If you know me I love anything glitter so it was something I really wanted to try. Only none of my local craft stores sell it. So while we are on the subject about being frugal I decided to make my own version of it. I used what I had in the house which ended up being gesso and corn flour. I saw some other recipes for it online that used other things but this is what I had on hand so I went with it. I used 2 parts gesso and 1 part corn flour. Then added some water until you get a thick paste consistency you are happy with. You can also colour the paste too. I used Pink Raspberry distress ink to do that. Then to create the glitter look I sprinkled some glitter embossing powder on the top of it once I had stenciled it on to my card. I heat set it for the final look.

I really like the texture that was left behind and it dries hard. I will be making up another batch of this now that I know it works really well.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!!

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye b...

Tag Trio Day 5 GIU

Hello Friends Welcome to my final day as GIU girl. I must say that I have loved every minute of it and I have enjoyed putting all of my projects together for you to see. So I wanted to end my week with some distress tags. I love getting messy with my distress inks and using the embossing resist technique. I chose this lovely flower stamp set called  Insightful Meadows . The sentiments are from another stamp set called  The Simple Things . These were so easy to make I stamped all of the flowers and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 different colours for each tag and swiped them on to my craft sheet. I spritzed some water and let the tag pick up the inks. I dried them 3 or 4 times in between until I had built up the colours I wanted.  I then stamped out the sentiments on to vellum and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I attached the vellum with glue and glued it at the back of ...

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched som...
