Winter Wishes - Unity Blog Hop

Hello Friends Welcome to our GIU blog hop :)  This year was my first time as a growing in unity girl and I loved every minute of it. So this is an added bonus being able to be a part of the blog hop with all the other girls from the last few month's. Unity is such a great company they are so good to us :)  I LOVE my Unity stamps so much!  As you know we are showcasing this weeks stamp of the week for you today.  How cute are those lil trees? I am totally loving the pink and turquoise colour scheme at the moment. So I went with that for my card today.  I coloured  the image with my alcohol markers. Then when it was dry I heat embossed the whole image with clear glitter embossing powder. I was going for a semi rustic look on this card using the burlap and kraft card as a background. I then paired it with some gold ribbon and glittery snowflakes. Remember one lucky hopper will get the chance to win a whole month's worth of Stamp of the week from this hop. So leave

Hope Butterfly

Hello Friends I wanted to make a card for this month's Unity Be Inspired Challenge . I had this idea in my head and my card, well lets just say it looks NOTHING like my idea ha. In fact this has to be one of those cards that I really don't like too much at all.  I was going to throw it away at one point but I pressed on and finished it. Do you ever get like that when you get frustrated that something is not coming out  the way you want it to? I am such a perfectionist and it drives me crazy aggh!  I heated embossed the butterfly background and sentiment with white embossing powder. Then used my distress inks to create the background. I then stamped the butterfly using two different distress inks and triple layered it to make it stand out. Finally I added lots of ribbon and bling and mounted it on to a white card base.  I hope you like my card it even if I don't ha :) Thanks for visiting Mandi xox Sup

Imperfections

Hello Friends I made this tag for the Make It Take It Challenge over at the craft stamper. The colours also fit in with the Unity Be Inspired Challenge .  I love the colours of all of. the leaves on the trees right now so I wanted to keep with an autumn theme.  I was going for a grungy, distressed look  to match the meaning of the sentiment. So I decided to make another tag. I cut this one out of cardboard.  I used some gesso over the card then applied my distress inks. Then I peeled the edges of the cardboard to reveal the corrugated look underneath.  Next I heat embossed the flower on top with white embossing powder. Then I stamped my sentiment using the same 3 inks on the tag and cut it up and glued the words on separately. Finally I took some ribbon and coloured them with my distress inks to coordinate with the tag. This is something a little different for me as I usually go with a much cleaner look. I really do like the way it turned out though. Thanks so much for stoppin

October Burlap Canvas

Hello friends Happy October! Can you believe it's October where did the year go? I love this time of year the colours on the trees are just starting to turn where I live. They are just lovely I took a walk through the park yesterday kicking up red and golden leaves. I get so inspired by the colours of nature. I wanted to make another autumn themed project this time to put on my burlap canvas.  I have had this stamp a while and have not yet inked it up. I seem to have a collection of Phyllis Harris stamps that have not been used yet. I wanted to do something a wee bit different with this one. I masked off the moon and stars as I just wanted to use the wee boy and the dog.  Then I painted the boy and dog using my watercolors then a very light wash for the sky and grass. I wanted them sitting under a tree. Only I have no tree stamp that was big enough so I had to paint my own. It was my first ever tree I did it freehand so please be gentle with me ha :) I went over the
