Hope - Teal & Gold

Happy Friday Friends

I hope you all had a good week :) I made this card inspired by the colours of a new journal that I bought. I was out shopping for a birthday present for my husband and came across an array of colourful journals at TK Maxx. I did not need a new journal but I just loved the colours on this so I just had to have it.  I love the colour teal it is one of my favourite colours along with Turquoise. I always seem to grab those colours first when I am crafting.  I am not usually a fan of gold I am more of a silver girl but these two colours go really well together. I would never have put them together if I had not seen how good it looked on this journal. It is so amazing the things you find that inspire you to create! Here is a picture of my journal.

I love this Hope stamp from Unity you can find it here. I embossed it with gold embossing powder on to white card. Then layered it on to a teal chevron background then some gold tone card that was made using my Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. The glitter card base was cut from card stock that I found at Tuesday Morning it was such a bargain 12 sheets for $2.99. if you live near a Tuesday Morning they have some great craft bargains. My local store has some great card and paper stacks amongst other things you should go and have a wee look around. I bought way too much stuff I just could not resist ;)

Anyway thanks so much for stopping by I hope you have a great weekend. I sure will we are leaving for vacation to Maine for a few days then hopefully on to Prince Edward Island. I am so excited!!

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye b...

Tag Trio Day 5 GIU

Hello Friends Welcome to my final day as GIU girl. I must say that I have loved every minute of it and I have enjoyed putting all of my projects together for you to see. So I wanted to end my week with some distress tags. I love getting messy with my distress inks and using the embossing resist technique. I chose this lovely flower stamp set called  Insightful Meadows . The sentiments are from another stamp set called  The Simple Things . These were so easy to make I stamped all of the flowers and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 different colours for each tag and swiped them on to my craft sheet. I spritzed some water and let the tag pick up the inks. I dried them 3 or 4 times in between until I had built up the colours I wanted.  I then stamped out the sentiments on to vellum and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I attached the vellum with glue and glued it at the back of ...

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched som...
