Happy New Year ~ Growing in Unity Day 1

Hello Friends

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Welcome to my first post of 2016 and my first day of being the growing in Unity girl. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and have had a very happy New Year so far. I am not really into New Year resolutions are you?  However I do like to give myself new challenges.  There are a few things I would love to accomplish this year. Hence the new beginnings blog theme you will see this week.  I am excited to be showing you my projects every day this week. The first card I have up is one I made using the Christy Tomlinson She Leaped stamp and the She Script background stamp. I thought this was appropriate since it is the beginning of a New Year. I love this stamp and do not use it nearly enough. So I wanted to start off my new year with it.

I stamped the background of the card about 4 times with the script stamp using archival ink. I stamped the girl separately and coloured her with my new Derwent Inktense Watercolour pencils.  I love these pencils so much they are also super easy to work with. I am not great a colouring so these are very forgiving  and would be great for beginners. The pencil basically turns into ink when you wet it with your brush. I used some foam dots to adhere her on the card then tied some pink twine on the side to finish it off.

My second card I have for you is this really quick and easy one. I used some patterned paper and stamped this C.S Lewis sentiment from the Far Better Things Ahead Grab Bag . I glued one of these wee calendar books  to the front. I got mine at my local garden centre I think they were only 99p for a packet of 10. I thought they would make really good calendar cards so picked some up. I have also seen them in Craft shops.  I kept the card really simple so that it can just sit out for the remainder of the year. I made this one for my Mum she has it sitting on her bookshelves right now.

So I hope you like my cards today. Come back and join me tomorrow and see what else I have created for you.  Remember to leave me a comment to be in with a chance of wining a lovely prize from Unity.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.

Friends with Flair @ Unity

Here is my Unity Friends with Flair entry.  I used my Feel the Joy stamp and used the generation stamping technique with memento ink. I then sponged the background in purple and deep pink pigment ink.  I mounted it on to white card and added the Happy Birthday sentiment at the bottom. It looked too plain so I added teeny weeny little butterflies from the butterfly punch from Martha Stewart.  P.S I ran out of daubers and all I could find was a magic eraser it did the trick as a makeshift sponge :)                                        If you want to take part hop along to Unity and enter  here I just had to make another card I just love this stamp I wish I had gotten it sooner it is so versatile. I think it may be my new favourite Unity Stamp :)                                                                           Thanks for visiting :)

Love You - Hot Pink

Happy Friday Friends :) I hope you all had a good week. Here is the card I made for this weeks friends with flair today.  I used two stamps on this card. The hearts are from the  You are my Main Squeeze stamp set. The sentiment is from the Strength & Dignity KOM 11/13 .  The vibrant pink colour is Picked Raspberry distress ink that I sponged all over the card. I embossed the hearts with white embossing powder. I really like he effect it created it looks almost like chalk.  Have a great weekend :)

Craft Stamper May Challenge

Hello Friends! I hope everyone is doing ok during this crazy time.  I just wanted to remind you that we are still running the Craft Stamper Challenges.  The May challenge is well underway but you still have time to come and join in.  Here is my card I made for this month's project.  I made this clean and simple floral card with Unity stamps.  I used two different kits to create this card. The jar with the flowers is from the  Strength & Wisdom  stamp set and the sentiment is from the kit called  His Words .  I kept my card really clean and just used my watercolors to colour the flowers and jar then tied a little twine around it to finish it off. If you have the time come and play along with us this month.  You can use any stamps you wish on your project.  Here is the prize we have on offer this month this fab Eileen Hull die.  All of the details of the challenge can be found on the  Craft Stamper Blog . Hope to see your project
