She Flies

Hello Friends

Happy Friday :)   I was feeling a bit emotional last night so I wanted to make something. I love to craft my emotions it really is my therapy. I always feel better after I make something. I wanted to make a tag that represented right where I am at in my life ready to take dive into the unknown. It is scary and it takes a lot of faith to do that but I am so ready for a change.

This stamp is called She Leaped how appropriate right?? I heat embossed it with white embossing powder then I used my water colour paints to colour it.  The sentiment is from another stamp set called With Her Own Wings. Once it was dry I added some coloured sewing floss and some tiny punched butterflies to embellish.

My husband and I leave for Scotland on Monday. I have a job interview and It will also be great to spend time with my family. I never get to go home around this time of year so it will be really nice to spend Easter at home. It is my husbands last day at his job today too. He has been offered job in Maine so you can see we have some big decisions to make in the next few weeks. So if you are the praying kind please keep us in your prayers. What ever happens it is our time to to FLY we just don't know where to :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.

PS I may do a wee craft/souvenir giveaway from Scotland. Let me know if that would be something you might like :)

  1. Mandi The tag is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your feelings. I craft too for therapy when I am not in the best condition emotionally and physically. Good luck on the trip to Scotland. That is the country where my Grandmother and MOM were from. I wanted to get there one day but it doesn't look like I will make that trip.. Both of my loved ones are no longer here. BUT that is where MEMORIES begin. Good luck to your husband too. I am sure you will figure out where you need to be. Good luck and prayers.

  7. Your tag is beautiful, Mandi. You always design the most wonderful things. Like I have said before, I love your eye for detail.

I wish I could create when things are weighing heavy on my mind, but the creative juices are at a standstill during these moments. Sounds like you and your husband have a great deal of things to consider, but I will be praying that everything will fall into place as they should.

Unity & Misti Blog Hop

Hello My lovelies :) Welcome to the Unity and Misti blog hop! I  hope you are enjoying seeing all of the projects so far. I just had my first wee play with the Misti tool the other day. It is a very new to me tool and wow do I LOVE it!! It is awesome! Just for the simplest of things like positioning a stamp.  One time is all you need with the Misti!! I am not one of those crafters that gets my stamped images crisp first time. I usually have wasted a card or two before I end up with a perfect image. This tool totally eliminates all of that.  Here is my very first card that I made with the Misti tool and Unity stamps.  I used a stamp called  Scattered Pieces . I LOVE this stamp and the sentiments that come with it.  I positioned the feather and the sentiment at the same time on the Misti.  I totally love that you can do that too!  It lets you stamp several at once instead of just eye b...

Tag Trio Day 5 GIU

Hello Friends Welcome to my final day as GIU girl. I must say that I have loved every minute of it and I have enjoyed putting all of my projects together for you to see. So I wanted to end my week with some distress tags. I love getting messy with my distress inks and using the embossing resist technique. I chose this lovely flower stamp set called  Insightful Meadows . The sentiments are from another stamp set called  The Simple Things . These were so easy to make I stamped all of the flowers and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I took 3 different colours for each tag and swiped them on to my craft sheet. I spritzed some water and let the tag pick up the inks. I dried them 3 or 4 times in between until I had built up the colours I wanted.  I then stamped out the sentiments on to vellum and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I attached the vellum with glue and glued it at the back of ...

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched som...
