Anne Shirley - Tomorrow

Hello Friends

I hope you are all having a good week. I wanted to make something for this month's Craft Stamper Take It, Make It Challenge. This month you have to use the embossing resist technique. If you know me you know I LOVE to emboss. So much so that I had to go and get a new heat tool this week. My old one was dying!!

Anyway on to my card. I absolutely LOVE Anne of Green Gables. I still have the DVDs and all the books I was gifted many years ago. I have yet to make my trip to Prince Edward Island but it is on my list to do so. I picked up this book at the dollar store month's ago. I wanted to use it more for quotes for my cards. But then I got the idea to rip out a page and actually stamp on it.

I first stuck the page to a piece of card then very lightly went over it with gesso. I then stamped my images and heat embossed them with white and silver embossing powder.  I would usually wipe the excess embossing powder away with a small brush. But I wanted that messy kind of sea spray look you get when you little bits behind. I heat set it and left it to cool.  Next I took 3 different distress inks and wiped them on to my craft mat.

I added a little water and then just worked the ink on to my card. I built up the colour until I had the look I wanted. Then wiped off the ink from the embossed areas to leave clean images.

Once it was dry I added some tiny butterflies. I then typed up the quote from Anne herself and printed it out. I wanted it on white paper and not the the yellow book paper or I would have used it from the book. I cut it out and glued it on the card then mounted it to a white card base. I really like the way it turned out. Thanks so much for visiting.

Friends with Flair @ Unity

Here is my Unity Friends with Flair entry.  I used my Feel the Joy stamp and used the generation stamping technique with memento ink. I then sponged the background in purple and deep pink pigment ink.  I mounted it on to white card and added the Happy Birthday sentiment at the bottom. It looked too plain so I added teeny weeny little butterflies from the butterfly punch from Martha Stewart.  P.S I ran out of daubers and all I could find was a magic eraser it did the trick as a makeshift sponge :)                                        If you want to take part hop along to Unity and enter  here I just had to make another card I just love this stamp I wish I had gotten it sooner it is so versatile. I think it may be my new favourite Unity Stamp :)                                                                           Thanks for visiting :)

Love You - Hot Pink

Happy Friday Friends :) I hope you all had a good week. Here is the card I made for this weeks friends with flair today.  I used two stamps on this card. The hearts are from the  You are my Main Squeeze stamp set. The sentiment is from the Strength & Dignity KOM 11/13 .  The vibrant pink colour is Picked Raspberry distress ink that I sponged all over the card. I embossed the hearts with white embossing powder. I really like he effect it created it looks almost like chalk.  Have a great weekend :)

Craft Stamper November Challenge

Hey Friends Welcome to a new  Craft Stamper  challenge for November. Can you believe we are almost at the end of the year already!!  Where did time go?? It has been pretty cold and frosty up here in Scotland for the last few nights.   But I am hanging on to Autumn as long as I can. I took a wee walk around the park and collected some lovely Autumn leaves.  I wanted to incorporate them into my project today.  I put the leaves in some paper and put them inside a heavy book overnight to press them down.  I started off with a white card base and used this sentiment stamp from Unity and repeat stamped all down the side of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink. Then I went around the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink.  Next I took my leaves and my paper punches and punched a heart shape out from the yellow leaf and then stuck it to my card with fabric glue.  Then I punched some hearts from the red leaves and put one inside t
