Mother's Day

Hello Friends I just made a quick Mother's Day card for my Mum. It has been a hectic few days and it totally slipped my mind to make her card. Mother's Day is day is on the 30th March in Scotland. THIS Sunday yikes!! I will mail it out today, hopefully it will only be a day or two late.  I used the flower from the Strength & Dignity KOTM . The sentiment is from a free kit I got from a magazine.  I used white embossing powder on turquoise Recollections card stock that I got from Michaels. I heat embossed 4 flowers and cut some of them up and glued them around the card. I added some small pearls to each centre. Next I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and added some white ribbon to finish.  I have not used this flower stamp yet as I could never think of a way to use it until today. I love how clean and fresh this card looks. Thanks for visiting xox Challenges Simon Says Stamp - Work it Wednesday 61...

Unity Be Inspired Challenge

Hello My Crafty Friends Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I was playing about with paints last night and decided to make a card for the  Unity Be Inspired Challenge . The colours are sooooo pretty. I love the different palettes they come up with each month. So these are the colours I had to work with. I am totally getting into painting lately I bought loads of cheap acrylics just to play around with. It is so not my thing and I am not much of a painter but I LOVE getting messy with it. The stamps I used in my card today are from Unity of course they are called Wishing you Joy & Miracles Happen . I started out with some kraft card and embossed the flowers with white embossing powder. I then used my paints to colour the flower heads different colours. While the paint was still slightly wet I sprinkled white glitter all over the flowers to give it a touch of sparkle. I added some tiny butterflies and mounted it on to  white card th...

Mother's Day Window

Hello Friends I made this quick card for the Simon Says Stamp challenge. The theme this week is Mother's Day/Special Girl.  The window stamp is from the Unity Happiness Has No Limit Kit of the month. The Sentiment is one I got free with a magazine a couple of years ago and I cannot recall the name.  I heat embossed the window with white embossing powder then painted over it with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. I mounted it on to very light turquoise and brown card then glued it to a white card base. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa Ink. I added a few light pink gems to finish it off :) Thanks for visiting xox

Harris Girls

Hello Friends  I made another set of note cards from the Phyllis Harris girls :)  The first girl in this set was my first ever Unity stamp  I bought :) I just love them don't you? I don't use these stamps nearly enough. The stamps I used are Your Wings Exist , Every Breath & Face to the Sunshine . I paper pieced all of the dresses. It was time consuming but it was so worth it :) Challenges Friends with Flair Thanks for stopping by have a great weekend xox

Monoprinting

Hello Friends I wanted to take part in this months Craft Stamper challenge. The challenge is to monoprint with an acrylic block. That sounded like fun. I am always up for trying new things :)  I don't own that many paints so I used what I had on hand. They happen to be black and a metallic light blue. I squeezed the paint randomly on the block then put it on my paper. Oh how it makes such a lovely mess :)  This background is what I was left with after I removed the acrylic block. The black was a little too dramatic for me, so I wanted to soften it a little. While the paint was still wet I sprinkled white fine glitter all over.  It dried in with a frosty look from the glitter which I really liked. I stamped and heat embossed the girl with white embossing powder, then painted her with my distress inks. I stamped the sentiment with distress ink then cut out the words and pasted them along side the girl. Finally I added some paper flowers that were coloured with ...

Be Still - Tag

Hello Friends I made this tag for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge .  I made my own tag from some scrap card stock.  I used the emboss resist technique. Stamping the flowers and heat embossing them with white embossing powder. I used Ranger Distress Inks and sponged them over the tag. The ink naturally resists the stamped image. I let it dry then stamped the old letter stamp across the tag with the same inks. Then sprayed a little water to create some water marks.  I used the same technique with the sentiment then cut it up and glued it on to the tag. I dyed the ribbon with the same inks. I added some gemstones that were in the same colour scheme to finish off the tag. My Cup of Tea

Hello Friends I finally got around to inking my tea stamp from Unity. Oh how I love drinking tea. We are BIG tea drinkers in Scotland. Anytime you visit someones house in Scotland they will always offer you a wee cuppa tea. It's just what we do :) So when I saw this stamp I had to have it!  I paper pieced the stamp with this lovely vintage paper stack I had bought a while ago. Next I used enamel accents to colour the tiny hearts white. The same paper was use to create a border at the top.  Finally I tied skinny ribbon and mini pearls to decorate. Thanks for visiting I hope you enjoy my card xox Supplies Unity Stamp Company Cup of Tea Paper Studio - Kirby Teesdale Paper Pack Ranger Enamel Accents - White Memento - Tuxedo Black Ink White Skinny Ribbon Mini Pearls

God's Timing - Flowers

Happy Friday Friends Here is a quick card I made for for Friends with Flair. I paper pieced the flower with the matching background paper. It is a really deep shade of pink almost close to red in colour. I used 3 different unity stamps on this one. God's Timing , Feel the Joy & Wishing You Joy .  I could not decide what flower to use so I just stamped them both :) Challenges Crafty Catz #221 Eureka Stamps - Anything goes #79 Thanks for stopping by have a great weekend  xox

Inchies - Little Butterfly

Hello my name is Mandi and I am addicted to butterflies :)  It's no secret I have a wee thing for butterflies. I don't know why but I love them. I am captivated by their beauty and how they glide through the air.  I bought this stamp from Unity to add to my winged collection. I LOVE IT :) You can find it here Little Things Butterfly . I know I will be using this one a lot. I created this card completely by accident. I was messing around with my distress inks and white embossing powder. I did not like the end result. So I cut up the card into 1 inch squares and only used 3 of them. I stamped the sentiment and cut each word out individually.  It looked much better as a clean and simple card :) Thanks for visiting xox Challenges Crafty Catz #219 Crazy4Challenges #225 Supplies - Distress Ink Dusty Concord, Distress Ink Worn Lipstick, Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, Unity Stamp Company - LittleThings Butterfly, White Embossing Powder, VersaMark Ink, M...

Lace & Pearls

Hello Friends I made this card for some challenges that  that required either lace or pearls. I am not really a pearl kinda girl but I do like lace. This is what I came up with. It is my take on a wedding card using Kraft card. I embossed half of the card with he D'Vine Swirl embossing folder to give it some texture and placed the pearls inside the swirls. The sentiment is from the Unity Stamp Company from a kit called Heartfelt Sentiments . I hope you enjoy my card.
