Beach Stamping

I hope you are all well and having a great week! We just got back from Maine, oh how I love it there. I had some beach therapy it was wonderful. We go there on vacation all the time but that was not why we were there this time.  My husband has been offered a job in Maine, so we went out house hunting and to check out the area.

While I was there I had to do a little crafting of course. I took a stone and stamped it with VersaMark ink. As it dried it came out like this with a nice dark image. I used this lovely Unity image designed by Phyllis Harris called Present in my heart.  I love this stamp of the wee girl looking out into the ocean. It seemed so appropriate to use on the beach stone.  I left it at the beach I hope someone finds it!

Craft Stamper ~ May Reminder ~ Take A Stamp

I am back with a reminder for the Craft Stamper Take It Make It challenge. I hope you have had a chance to join us with this month's theme Take A Stamp. If not that is OK because there is still time to join us.

 You can make anything your little heart desires for this challenge. As long as there is a stamp on your project somewhere. I made this distressed jar for my project today! I LOVE it! I used this lovely Unity stamp called Within Beauty.  I have been saving empty jars forever so I wanted to start making things with them. This is such an easy project to make. All you do is paint the jar with acrylic paint. I used two coats of this lovely duck egg blue. Let it dry completely, I left mine over night. Then I took my archival ink and stamped it. Next I took a nail file and distressed some of the areas. Finally I tied some jute around the top to finish.

 How easy is that?? You really can't mess this one up! So feel free to have a go at painting your own jars they turn out so pretty.

Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge ~ Take A Stamp

Welcome to my first post as part of the Craft Stamper TIMI design team! I am so excited to be part of this wonderful group of designers.

Our theme this month is Take a Stamp! As long as there is stamping somewhere on your project that is all that matters. Easy right? So you can express yourself however you want to.  All of the details can be found here.

  This is the project I came up with. I used white embossing powder and Brusho.  I LOVE Brusho it is my new addiction. I love how you can take a wee pot of coloured powder and create such organic patterns with it.  I used a Unity stamp on this card called - Don't be like the rest of them. I love this stamp so much it incorporates two of my favourite things butterflies and script writing.

I stamped with VersaMark ink then heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then sprinkled some Brusho and sprayed my paper. Once I got the pattern I wanted from the Brusho I heat set it. Then I went back over the butterfly and made it much darker to make it stand out. I stamped the love always sentiment right in the corner with VersaFine ink. Next I distressed the edges, then took my scissors and fussy cut the wings from the paper but left the body intact. I pulled the wings forward to make it look like the butterfly is actually about to take flight. Finally I mounted it on to a white card base that was also distressed.
